What I saw Today

02/23/2010

Being as plugged in as I am, I always enjoy fashion blogs that are more visual based. It is kind of like the news: eventually we get tired of reading really tiny font and will turn on CNN so someone can just tell it to us instead.

What I Saw Today is an amazing blog my Richard Haines, a fashion illustrator who has worked for clients including Calvin Klein, Bill Blass, Barney’s, J. Crew, and In Style magazine. I love the textured, rough look of his sketches. He has a great understanding of the way a garment sits on a body and the way that our bodies move. (God, I wish I could sketch like that). It is cool how he uses whatever is available around him: envelopes, iPhone, brochures, walls, etc.

Perhaps you have seen some of his work:
